High Voltage Laboratory, operating within the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University, provides education, research, and testing services in the fields of electrical power systems and high voltage engineering.

The laboratory conducts measurement and evaluation studies in accordance with national and international standards (TS/EN, IEC, IEEE, etc.) in the areas of experimental verification, device type testing, and system performance analysis.

METU High Voltage Laboratory aims to strengthen university-industry cooperation and to increase the safety and quality of high-voltage equipment produced by domestic manufacturers. The laboratory’s technical infrastructure consists of high voltage test systems, surge voltage generators, partial discharge test units, aging test rigs, and other advanced measurement equipment.

METU High Voltage Laboratory operates independently, impartially, and with scientific accuracy; the reliability and confidentiality of test results form the basis of the laboratory’s policies.

To be the primary reference center for high-voltage testing and research infrastructure in Turkey; to contribute to the sector, public safety, and the resilience of energy infrastructure by developing exemplary practices in accordance with TÜRKAK and international accreditation requirements.
